#VeganHour Live: Listen

Listen back to #VeganHour Live

This is what happened on April 15th when Melissa “Ms Cupcake” Morgan and I went live on Resonance 104.4FM during #VeganHour. Our conversation ran from accidentally vegan Beef and Tomato Flavour Pot Noodles to running vegan businesses. Vegan registered dietitian Marty Davey even phoned in to answer questions that had come up on Twitter.

Melissa Morgan (“Ms Cupcake”)

Ms Cupcake is a vegan baker and media personality, the author of “The Naughtiest Vegan Cakes in Town” cookbook, and winner of the British Baker 2011 “Rising Star” award. Her bakery is in the gentrifying south London suburb of Brixton, well within the Resonance 104.4 FM broadcast area.

Marty Davey RD

Marty Davey is a Pennsylvania-based registered dietitian, and vegan. A former actress, she presents nutrition information and cookery lessons in the glamorous 1950s persona “La Diva Dietitian”. She phoned in from the USA.

Mary-Anne Mills

Mary-Anne owns Heavenly Organics Skin Care and co-ordinates the #VeganHour Twitter chat along with Graham and Rush of VeganChatRoom. You can join #VeganHour weekly at 19:00 London Time (which might be 19:00 or 20:00 GMT, depending whether the UK is on daylight savings time that week).

To digital media artist Robb Masters for our theme, to guests, and to Resonance 104.4FM studio engineer Tariq Haque.

I’ve decided not to include this in the podcast feed – as a first try in a new format, even the rough edits are more polished! This is not a reflection on the guests; it’s just as a pilot for a different kind of show, the need to juggle social media, upcoming guests, and presenting did rather tell. If there are any future live shows, they might be included.

Update 2 Feb 2015

Updated to point to the recording of the episode on Archive.org instead of the Resonance FM catchup service on Soundcloud.

About Ian McDonald

I'm a British new media person with a passion for radio, and interested in the kind of stories best told when we see humans as part of the world of animal minds. I blogged about why I'm producing The Vegan Option.
